Lucky ladybug. She sits by our front door to greet visitors and welcomes us home each day. I think she is adorable :)

March 30 2010 - Day 89

Chickadee... or should I say mockingbird? He sat outside my window for about 10 minutes. I finally picked up my camera, changed the settings, aimed and THEN he flew away.

Then I forgot to take another picture today. Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Job fair at the high school today. Matt decided to go all out and dress up. I just wish he would have let me have more than 2 minutes to take his picture.

I think he looks great.

And yes, it is a picture of a person, and even one that belongs to me! :D

I love the hunt for a great deal and the chance to find a real treasure.

Today I found a HUGE blown glass vase. It's about 18" tall and I think it weighs about 5 pounds, and only cost $3.00

Score one for the super shopper!

Perhaps I'll have to take a picture of it soon... hmmmmm

Jonathon was making coffee a few months ago and found this funny coffee bean and brought it down to me in my scrapbook room. We joke about it being my 'pet' coffee bean. He's very quiet and doesn't make a mess. Sit... stay.... Good coffee bean ; )

Attention Wal-Mart shoppers - clean up in the parking lot...

I went shopping at 'the mall' today and there was a huge flock of crows eating McD's out of a shopping cart. I thought it was pretty funny so snapped a picture. I was going to take some other pictures and choose a pic of the day from those, but it didn't happen, so here it is.

March 21 2010 - Day 80

Okay, I can't believe I'm posting this. This is me standing on TOP of DH's work bench in the shop. Notice the stylish respirator ; ) Try NOT to notice that dh got my best side (insert rolling eyes.) I'm trying to fix the backdrop that I got off Ebay... what a fiasco THAT was. Anyway, I think it's starting to look pretty good. I tried something different, trying to make it look like I was spraying today's date out of the spray paint can... did it work?

I'm not sure what this is. It's a small tree that appeared near our cherry tree, and now it's over 12 feet tall! Beautiful and bright.

Happy St. Patty's day :) What better way to celebrate than to have a green beverage? I was out first thing this morning and thought I had forgotten to wear green! (image that, me of all people who loves green!) Well, I was at a store I frequent and one of the ladies there gave me this loverly green necklace. I did realize I was wearing my green holey soles after all, but it was certainly a nice gesture, and that's no blarney ; )

I got this great little antique doll bed for a prop for baby photography. It's very heavy duty. It's not quite as small as it looks here, Jack is a BIG cat :)

Okay, crazy weather today again. I don't think snow and cherry blossoms go together very well. At least it didn't last too long. Unfortunately I had to postpone a photo shoot for today too :( It's supposed to be nice next week though, woo hooo! :D

Look at this cutie pie. I went to meet with a client today and get a feel for the lighting in her house for some natural light shots of her children. This sweet guy was so adorable! His 5 month old sister was equally cute, but I didn't get any shots of her as she was having a good time bouncing away in her jumper :D

He gave me a big hug on the way out which just melted me. I can't wait to do a shoot for this wonderful family.

On a happier note... I got a chance to play with my new macro lens. I LOVE THIS NEW LENS! The DOF (depth of field) is truly scrumptious. I tried a few different things just laying around the house. I can't wait to try it with little baby parts, eyelashes and smooshy lips :)

Thought I'd try something a little artistic today. This photo was taken through the window of our 21st story hotel room at the Pan Pacific in Vancouver. The weather wasn't so great out. I kind of like the result though.

A few people have asked about my new studio. Here it is. Of course the backdrop won't usually be in such an interesting place... Bruce was working on the baseboard and we clamped it up to get it out of the way. I'm getting excited! It's getting closer to being done! :D

Okay, not the best photo, but here is the cast iron bench we got in Victoria. How cute is that!? It cracks me up that Penny hops on whatever I am trying to take a picture of... hope she keeps off the clients :)

March 06 2010 - Day 65

We went to the 'Digger' antique show in Chemanius early this morning. It was so gorgeous out that we decided to just keep on going for a drive and ended up down in Victoria at one of my favorite places, Capital Iron. The sky was so blue, and the cherry blossoms were out in abundance. We found a few treasures - an adorable mini park bench (there will be a later post with a picture I think) and a cute little galvanized wash tub :)

We also walked all the way down to Fort Street. I just wish I had worn more comfortable shoes.

It was so nice out today that Bruce and I decided to take a road trip out to Coombs. Of course anyone who has been to Coombs knows that one of the best things about it is their bakery... mmmm so delicious. I love their breads. The other thing I like about Coombs is the funky old buildings. I love the moss on the A-frame roof of this one.

The morning after the Olympics ended. We had a little bottle of bubbly to celebrate Canadian awesomeness last night.

It makes me so proud not just the way the athletes performed, but also the way they were great ambassadors for this great country. I also think Vancouver did an amazing job of hosting the Olympics too. Well done Canada, well done. Here's to all of us.
