Avast Penny, it's a pirate chest! :D We found this great old chest, circa 1890, at an antique store. I can't wait to use it in a real photo shoot! Sorry Peg-Leg Penny, time to walk the plank ya scallywag!

March 24 2010 - Day 83
I am a thrift store junkie :DI love the hunt for a great deal and the chance to find a real treasure.
Today I found a HUGE blown glass vase. It's about 18" tall and I think it weighs about 5 pounds, and only cost $3.00
Score one for the super shopper!
Perhaps I'll have to take a picture of it soon... hmmmmm

March 06 2010 - Day 65
We went to the 'Digger' antique show in Chemanius early this morning. It was so gorgeous out that we decided to just keep on going for a drive and ended up down in Victoria at one of my favorite places, Capital Iron. The sky was so blue, and the cherry blossoms were out in abundance. We found a few treasures - an adorable mini park bench (there will be a later post with a picture I think) and a cute little galvanized wash tub :)We also walked all the way down to Fort Street. I just wish I had worn more comfortable shoes.

Feb 19 2010 - Day 50
We went antiquing and also down to the market in Duncan today. On our way back the late afternoon sun was so gorgeous that hubby actually agreed to pull over at the Somenos Marsh. I was lucky enough to have just enough light left to get this photo of these two swans enjoying a swim just before the sun went over the mountain.

Feb 16 2010 - Day 47
Hubby and I went for a drive this afternoon as it was such a great day. The weather was beautiful. We decided to go to one of our favorite places, Coombs. On the way we stopped at Demex, which is a scrap metal, recycled building supply place. This was one of the fun and funky metal rusty gates that we saw. I don't think it gets better than this - FONTY and DISTRESSED! I LOVE IT! Wish I could have brought it home, but it's about 20 feet long and 5 feet high.
