November 01 2010 - Day 304

Halloween leftover :) This Golden Thread Cypress is getting so big, when I was looking at if just before Halloween I noticed it looked like it had a mouth, so I just added some glow in the dark eyes, and an instant monster is born ;) He doesn't look too scary though.

August 19 2010 - Day 230

My good friend Tania and I went to Neck Point Park today. She had never been there. We were even able to conquer a fairly steep hill :D It was a gorgeous day.... well, except for the snake! The picture of me was one that Tania took of me right after we saw it... eek!

August 03 2010 - Day 214

The forest fires have been bad in B.C. this past while. Even though there aren't any on the Island, the smoke has even reached us here. Here is the SUN just before it went down... colored by the smoke

July 30 2010 - Day 210

I have no idea what these 'fruit?' are.
They were growing on this thick, twisty vine at the Longwood Brewpub restaurant. Taken with Bruce's camera while we were out for lunch.

July 26 2010 - day 206

Bruce took this picture of me on the weekend when we were at Little Qualicum Falls. I played with it quite a bit trying to get a good black and white image. Not sure it worked, but I enjoyed the practice. I'm not used to being on THIS side of the camera ;)

July 25 2010 - Day 205

We went up to Coombs (CRAZY busy) and also Little Qualicum Falls today. The weather was great. I caught this great picture of Bruce and Matt after I said something funny about the way they had posed a second before, lol.... :)

June 22 2010 - Day 172

Turtle turtle duck turtle.
This isn't the greatest pic as it was with my little camera, and they were quite far away so I had to crop it, but I thought it was nice to see these guys sharing a log :)

June 17 2010 - Day 167

My Hydrangea is loving this FINALLY warmer weather. I can't wait to see it in glorious full bloom, it's just gorgeous! I love the bokeh in the background of the sun shining on the branches of my weeping pussy willow too. :)

June 15 2010 - Day 165

Sunset taken through my happy little Weeping Pussy Willow tree :D I love the way the leaves look all fuzzy.

June 12 2010 - Day 162

Taken off our deck. Funky clouds over the mountains. The buildings on the right are actually West Vancouver.

June 05 2010 - Day 155

chirp chirp chirp
This Red Finch was quite enjoying our new bird feeder. I recently read an article on exposure compensation and thought I would try using it for this because of the bright white lattice in the background. It worked great. Now I just need to remember to use this great technique :)

June 02 2010 - Day 152

Not quite Ansel Adams, lol... but I love this huge old cedar tree at the end of our street. There are a pair of eagles that like to sit on the uppermost branch. There is only one in this photo though. Unfortunately part of the top of the tree got blown off last winter.

May 29 2010 - Day 149

Rain rain go away. It has been such a rainy month. This is a dandelion stem. I love the reflection of the bird feeder in the water drops

May 27 2010 - Day 147

Apparently it's bee week :) Trying out my macro lens. These guys are fast! I took about 60 shots, and this is the clearest. Love all the pollen on his legs.

May 26 2010 - Day 146

Popped out for a bit of fresh (rainy) air today. Caught this little bumble gathering some pollen :)

May 22 2010 - Day 142

With all the earlier good weather we had, our fruit trees are doing really well. If it would just get warmer out, we may have an early crop. I love apricots, and you can't beat fresh from your own tree.

May 21 2010 - Day 141

Okay, thought I'd TRY to step away from the baby... and I found a baby robin :D A robin built a nest in our Photenia bush right outside dh's den window. It was hard to get this picture with all the leaves in the way. I did use my looooooooong lens so as not to disturb this cute little babe too much. He (she?) definitely has an eye on me!
